CPT Research Centre

Introduction

CPT Research Centre is at the forefront of proactive research, training, and education in the cash and payments cycle. We create and facilitate forums and roundtables that bring together industry leaders, including major and central banks, to address pressing issues and drive innovation. Our research services encompass both general studies that enhance our business perception and specialised assignments tailored to client needs, including benchmarking and public policy analysis.

Practically informed, action oriented research

Our research takes a variety of forms. At all times, it is informed by practice which means it is grounded in experience and reality, not just theory. Additionally, our research has a bias for informing decision making toward actions that are needed. While we know that sometimes the best course of action is to continue on the same path, we look for what our research means in terms of ‘better and best state.’

Benchmarking

Benchmarking provides participating organisation with a wide range of benefits. These include objective visiblity of performance, understanding of best practices, inputs for innovation and change, and information to support decision making. Benchmarking leans on the adage, “a rising tide lifts all boats.” Our benchmarking services can be one-off or ongoing, and can be single-organisation or across-industry.

Market participant forums

Our forum model provides a roundtable format to support discussion, expert input, sharing of global best practices, decision making, and industry advancement. Forums are built both within single countries and across countries, and typically with a specific focus (for example cash in transit, the cash system from a bank perspective, etc).

Regulation and public policy

Due to our experience with regulatory models and public policy reviews, together with our deep expertise in the overarching cash cycle, cash trends and operator models, we bring a unique, pragmatic perspective to advising on regulatory reform and public policy around the future of cash and cash systems.

Research collaboration

We welcome research collaboration, which particularly comes in two forms:

Sponsorship of research initiatives

While financial sponsorship is one aspect, sponsorship may also include providing access to your people, expertise, partners or data to support the research effort.

Researchers

If you are a researcher or a subject matter expert and you are interested in contributing to understanding on how to improve cash systems globally, we would love to have you play a role in our research projects. Please get in touch and give us an overview of your background and expertise.
